These terms apply to bespoke commissions, ready-to-wear purchases, alterations and appointments with Thread of Africa, 5 Leyden St, London E1 7LE.

Bespoke & made-to-measure

Prices shown as "from" are starting prices; your final quote is confirmed at consultation once fabric, design and measurements are agreed. A deposit is required to begin a bespoke commission and is non-refundable once cutting has started, as bespoke pieces are made specifically for you. Timelines are estimates given in good faith; please tell us your event date early so we can plan fittings.

Fittings & measurements

Accurate results depend on you attending agreed fittings. We are not responsible for fit issues arising from missed fittings, significant changes in measurements after fitting, or measurements you supply yourself.

Alterations

We will advise honestly on what is achievable before starting. Alterations depend on the garment's construction and seam allowances; we cannot guarantee results on fragile, worn or previously altered garments and will flag any risk before we begin.

Ready-to-wear & returns

Unworn ready-to-wear pieces in original condition may be returned within 14 days for exchange or refund. For hygiene reasons, headwear and altered or bespoke items are non-returnable except where faulty. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.

Payment

Payments are taken securely through our platform. Balance on bespoke commissions is due before collection or dispatch.

Cancellations

Please give at least 24 hours' notice to change or cancel an appointment. Deposits on bespoke commissions are governed by the bespoke terms above.

Liability

Our liability is limited to the value of the goods or services supplied. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
